Metallic Bag Platino Sand
It's a shimmering take on a classic...
With time the foil will soften and wear creating a distressed effect.
Beginning at 'Piccolo' our baby bag originally designed for salt and pepper, popular as a ramekin or small desk size. 'XS' also a good size for desk accessories will fit miniature succulents or cacti in a 5cm pot.
Our 'Small', 'Medium' and 'Large' sizes have been designed for the table. 'Small' for herbs which can house a 10cm pot, 'Medium' for bread or a 15cm pot and 'Large' for a larger bread bag, fruit bowl or 17cm pot.
Taking inspiration from our signature washable paper table bags we have designed extra large planter sizes for the floor.
The 'Large Plus' size comfortably fits a 20cm plant pot, from here we move up to 'XLarge' which is an ideal size used as a paper bin or a 25cm pot, 'XXLarge' is a popular size for laundry or a 30cm pot and the 'Giant' coming in at 45cm in base diameter is designed specifically as a super sized bag for a Christmas tree or large indoor plant with a pot size of 40-42cm.
When the oversize bags arrive they will be packed flat, at first look they may seem too big, please don’t be put off by their initial flat form. As soon as you start rolling the top down the bag will start to take form and the sheer size will disappear. Don’t be afraid to grab handfuls of the paper and roll big fat long rolls, scrunch and roll, scrunch and roll and then some more. The base shape can be manipulated and squashed in once the bag is at the desired height. Use for laundry, towels, blankets, toys, magazines, as a vase, planter or paper bin... and that's just a few ideas.
Please always remember to use a plant saucer or plastic tray in the base of our bags, see 'Care' for further instructions.
Each and every paper bag we sell is sewn by hand in a cottage in Tuscany, so we are proud to call ourselves a cottage industry. Every purchase directly supports an artisan community of Italian seamstresses.
Our paper is made using a cultivated fibre and does not contribute to deforestation. Sustainability extends to sustainable use, finding new ways to use and reuse the simple paper bag.

- UASHMAMA paper bags are machine washable, however to maintain the solid metallic finish we advise to handwash or simply wipe clean. Unroll bag and wash in warm water using a mild soap or detergent, rinse thoroughly and dry flat.
If you're using your UASHMAMA bag for herbs, plants or flowers be sure to use a small pot, vase or container. Do not pot directly into the bag.
This bag is not waterproof, water will not hurt our bags but they will leak so remember to use a plant tray. Some of our customers have recommended shower caps as liners.
After washing or any spillage the bag must be allowed to dry out, left wet for any length of time will create mould which is harmful to the bags properties.
On occasion there can be very small imperfections found in the metallic paper they are minor and do not effect the strength of the paper.
It is normal for the metallic paper to crease and mark with wear, the intention is for the paper to become more like a foil. This is characteristic of the metallic paper, it is not a fault.
